SAFE is a Non-Profit structure established to raise relief funds for South Africa’s entertainment, events and festival community. We estimate a loss of R3 billion in revenue over the next six months.

SAFE, in partnership with Pick ‘n Pay Feed The Nation and a number of event industry leaders intends to support these people in their greatest time of need by providing food vouchers to them. These SAFE vouchers will allow them to go to their nearest Pick ‘n Pay and get a hamper of essentials.

Campaign Story

SAFE is a Non-Profit structure established to raise relief funds for South Africa’s entertainment, events and festival community.
We estimate a loss of R3 billion in revenue over the next six months.

In the short-term, the hardest hit will be the lowest paid hourly workers. Barman, waiters, technical company setup crews, décor company setup crews, security officers, cleaners, fencing staff and more. The list is exhaustive and the effect catastrophic.

Thousands of these staff who in most cases are the main or only breadwinner of their household, will find themselves almost instantly with no income. In a very short span of time, no income will mean no food.

Each voucher will be for a specific basket of items:

  • SAFE R600.00 including VAT. This basket can feed a family of 5 for a month
  • SAFE R400.00 including VAT. This basket can feed a family of 4 for a month

The above will include a combination of the below essentials:

  • Rice 10kg
  • Maize 5kg
  • Oil 2L
  • Sugar 2,5kg
  • Pilchards 6’s
  • Peanut butter
  • Tea 100’s
  • Samp & Bean mix
  • Split Peas
  • Packets of soup (5 pkts)
  • Powdered Milk
  • Potatoes 3/4kg
  • Onions 4kg
  • Soap
